Hence the creation of the Walkers Group, whose members are criss-crossing all the Island walking through its paths. The group is mostly pleasure-seeking and enjoys to immerse into nature, its smells and the dramatic views. But the group also remains alert to any activity which may be destroying our privileged environment and reports it.
Join now the group if you like to walk in the nature and if you want to help preserving the Parian natural and human environment from an irreversible destruction.

Περιπατητές / Walkers

Walks take place every Sunday - if the weather is fine - and are announced in advance, together with details of the length and level of difficulty of each route, in the Paros Community Events. Everyone is welcome to join.
The first walk - from the village of Kostos to Asteras (the old road from Paroikia to Marpissa) took place on Sunday, 15 March. It was an easy walk of about one hour, a distance of 2.82km, with a minimum altitude of 69m and maximum altitude of 186m. Walkers were able to enjoy the natural beauty encountered along the path, as well as taking note of the problems with the Kostos sewage treatment facility, the failed dam project to store rainwater, the car "cemetery", a very interesting old bridge in urgent need of restoration and the huge amount of development undergone in some places.
